Ecoworld plant terrarium

Most frequently asked questions about Plant terrariums

A closed ecosystem creates its own balanced climate. Still, additional watering may sometimes be necessary. If the soil feels dry, give 5 to 10 cl of water, depending on the size of the ecosystem.

Yes definitely. The plants grow slowly and in principle they do not need to be pruned. If the plant does get too big for the ecosystem, you can prune it back to its original size. Leave the ecosystem open for the next 24h to allow the plants to recover.

Is condensation forming in the ecosystem? Then this is a sign that it is too hot. The ecosystem cannot get rid of its heat. Open the pot for 12-24 hours. Does the problem persist? Then move the ecosystem to another place in the house.

Sometimes a leaf falls off the plant. The soil uses this as nutrition. This is a normal process, only sometimes small flies form. The flies again lay eggs, etc. Fortunately, you can find "nematodes" in garden centers that combat the pests. This is available in powder form and you pour over the soil with water.

An ecosystem takes several weeks to acclimate. You may notice small white spots as a result. This is not a problem. You can carefully remove the fungus-infested leaves. A natural balance will develop naturally.

If you have had the ecosystem for some time and mold develops, the soil may be too moist. Remove the cork from the ecosystem for a few days and remove the affected leaves. The plants will then have time to recover.

Eccoworld air plants

Most frequently asked questions about air plants

There is no need to water the Tillandsia. The plants draw water mainly from the air. Through the small downy hairs on the leaves of the plant, it absorbs humidity from the air. Because the air inside can still sometimes be 'dry', for example due to a heater, it is certainly good to spray the air plants occasionally with water or Tillandsia Spray. The spray contains extra minerals, which give them an extra boost and keep the air plants in top condition.

In the hot summer months, the plants do need water or a spray once or twice a week This will prevent the plants from drying out.

Tillandsia are living plants that look different in different seasons. Also because we keep them in a cool and dark place, they can lose the hard colors and change back to their original green color.

Plenty of light and occasionally misting them with Tillandsia Spray will quickly bring back the deeper colors.

It is possible that the tillandsia may have dried leaves. Don't worry, this happens sometimes. You can cut away the dried leaves. If the tillandsia gets brown tips, you can also cut them away. Spray the plant with a little water or Tillandsia Spray. It will recover on its own. The tillandsia is a very strong plant and disease resistant.

No, tillandsia are not toxic to pets.
