How do you plant pond plants?
Most ponds are filled with pond plants placed in pond baskets. This gives the roots a chance to take root properly and they always have the right nutrition close at hand. In the instructional video below, Simon shows you step-by-step how to optimally plant your plants so that you will soon enjoy the results to the fullest.
Plant aquatic plants with one of our Pond Plant Packages:
- Remove the plant cuttings and/or roots from the package and place them ready for in the pond basket.
- Mix the pond plant clay (dark grains) and pond plant soil together in a separate container and spread into the empty pond basket.
- Place the plant cuttings in the desired location with the sprout facing up (let it protrude above the soil) and gently push them into the bottom of the mixed soil.
- In an open spot in the ground, push the nutrient supplement down well deep and firmly. Make sure this is completely covered.
- Sprinkle and spread the cover gravel over the pond basket. Allow the plants to peek out from between them.
- The pond basket is ready to be placed at the bottom of your (mini) pond.
