Tip from SimonThere’s something serene about the white lotus; its large flowers rise high above the water, and its leaves repel water like pearls. Give it warmth and the sunniest spot you have, and it will be the showpiece of your garden. Plant it in a basket with STEP ONE , shallowly at -1 cm, in full sun. This way, the roots warm up quickly, and it will bloom sooner.
About this product
The white lotus is no ordinary aquatic plant. Its large flowers float proudly above the water and immediately catch the eye. At sunrise, it opens its petals; at sunset, it closes them again—day after day. It requires little care, as long as you provide sunlight, warmth, and a firm base of Pond clay. With its scent, color, and presence, it adds something that no other plant can match.
What makes this product special
Where the water lily lies on the water, the lotus rises above it. Long stems lift its flowers and leaves above the pond, strong, graceful, and striking. It repels dirt with its self-cleaning leaf surface and attracts butterflies, bees, and dragonflies. And it’s not just beautiful: the roots, seeds, and young leaves are edible. Whether you choose to plant a rhizome or grow it from seed, you’ll always get something unique in return.
Quality and origin
A lotus is not a disposable plant. With the right care, it will bloom year after year. Use rich Pond clay stable growth, choose a sunny spot, and make sure the water stays above 20 degrees in the summer. In winter, bring the plant indoors or lower it to the bottom of the pond, as long as it doesn’t freeze completely. It isn’t hardy, but with a little care, it will return even stronger every spring.
