How does it work?

Activate the Grow and Bloom Guarantee within one week of receiving the product.

After this, we offer a 6-month warranty on our aquatic plants.

What do we expect from you?

Plants

Use the supplied baskets without cloth for plants with pond baskets, mix the pond clay only with garden soil or pond soil. Place oxygen plants loose in the pond and plant loose aquatic plant plugs only in pond substrate. The use of unsuitable materials can affect the warranty.

Places

Place aquatic plants at the specified depth of at least 5 cm underwater, not close to fountains, filters or pumps, and avoid placement in ditches or ponds with koi and other carp-like fish.

Furnish

To set up a pond, ensure a minimum depth of 20 cm, avoid unfinished edges, ensure adequate water and a substrate layer of 8-10 cm in non-natural ponds. Create a biological balance with a mix of plants and add pond bacteria. For a plant filter, use the appropriate pond substrate, provide a substrate layer of 8-10 cm, diversity of plants, and recognize the importance of plant cohesion for balance.

Aftercare

For aftercare, add pond bacteria twice a year, do not use external water improvers for growth and bloom assurance, and avoid water testing due to fluctuating values; respect the natural balance.

Also keep in mind that plants will not start sprouting until spring (April / May). Planting in the winter is possible, but the growth will take place several months later.

If all conditions are met and the plant still does not want to grow? You will receive a voucher from us worth the purchase price of the defective item, valid for 90 days.

100% growth and flowering guarantee conditions

1.Planting plants and use of material

  • Plants supplied with pond baskets: Use only the supplied baskets without cloth. Mix the supplied pond clay only with garden or pond soil, not with sand or other additives.
  • Loose Oxygen Plants: Plants such as Crabweed, Waterweed, Moss balls, and Hornleaf should be placed loose in the pond and not fixed.
  • Loose aquatic plant plugs: Plants such as Yellow Lis, Swan Flower, Dwarf Gloddock, Greater Lisoddock, Pied Calamus, Pikeweed (Swamp Hyacinth), and Blue lis supplied as loose plugs should be planted only in pond substrate. The use of other soil materials such as lava is not covered by the warranty.

2.The placement of the plants

  • Planting depth: Plant the aquatic plant at the specified depth as listed on the package with a minimum planting depth of 5 cm underwater.
  • Plant Location: Do not place the plant too close to a fountain, filter or pump, and not in the ditch where various factors can hinder plant growth.
  • No carp-like fish: Do not place the plant in a pond with koi carp or other carp-like fish.

3a .Setting up the pond / water feature

  • Minimum depth: The pond should have a minimum depth of 20 centimeters to prevent the water from heating up too quickly.
  • Edges and tubs: Avoid unfinished black edges or small tubs that can lead to a sweltering water environment.
  • Adequate water content: Make sure the pond contains enough water to avoid large temperature fluctuations.
  • Substrate: For non-natural ponds (made of concrete, plastic container or pond liner), provide a layer of at least 8 to 10 cm of substrate over the entire bottom of the pond.
  • Biological balance: Provide a mix of low-growing oxygen plants, loose oxygen plants, water lilies, aquatic plants and marsh plants. Also add pond bacteria twice a year.

3b.Setting up a plant filter of e.g. a swimming pond

  • Using the right pond substrate: Use pond substrate instead of alternatives such as lava.
  • Sufficient substrate: Provide a layer of at least 8 to 10 cm of substrate.
  • Diversity of plants: Provide both tall and low plants in the pond.
  • Strength of cohesion between plants: Keep in mind that plants need each other for biological balance.

4.Aftercare

  • Add pond bacteria: Add pond bacteria twice a year - in spring after winter and in fall before winter.
  • No external agents: For our 100% growth and flowering guarantee, no external agents such as GH plus or other water improvers should be used.

Note: Water testing is not recommended because water values fluctuate. It is important to respect the natural balance.

These conditions have been established to ensure that your aquatic plants have the best chance to grow and bloom. If you comply with these conditions and your plants do not show growth or bloom, please contact us for further assistance.

Most common pond mistakes with examples

Warranty common errors

Not enough aquatic plants in the pond

Too few aquatic plants, no balance in the pond, also causes a lot of algae growth. which chokes plants and the pond does not reach biological balance.

Warranty common errors

Placing plants too deep in the pond

It is possible to "drown" aquatic plants by placing them too deep in the pond. It is important to create shallower areas in the pond for optimal plant growth. To do this, use tiles or pond crates to position the plants at the proper depth.

Warranty common errors

Plants near fountain, filter or pump

A pump or filter can cause the plant to struggle and will interfere with a plant's optimal growth.

Warranty common errors

Big fish in the pond

These fish love aquatic plants and will have eaten the plant before it has a chance to grow. Always put the plants in a part of the pond where the fish cannot reach them.

Not enough substrate and water in the pond

The pond has a shortage of substrate and water, exacerbated by warm weather. A bottom layer of 8-10 cm of substrate is crucial. Heat heats the water, which is detrimental to plants. A lack of plants upsets the biological balance.

Too small pond and black edges

Black edges of foil or tubs can warm pond water. A larger and deeper water tank limits temperature fluctuations. Minimize black edges by finishing with wood or plants for a stable pond environment.

Placing plants too dry

Putting plants higher than the minimum depth on the package can also be harmful to the plant. The water can then get too hot and cause the plant to break down.

Using lava instead of porous pond substrate

It is crucial to use the right pond substrate. Lava is sometimes chosen as a cheaper alternative, but it filters less efficiently and is insufficiently porous for proper rooting of pond plants, which can hinder their growth and survival.
