Marimo moss balls for the pond and aquarium
Magical balls they are, the Marimo moss balls (Chladoflora Aegagropiladie). Marimo means seaweed in Japanese, and that is exactly what these oxygen balls are made of: green algae. So there is no moss involved in these handy balls, which can be used in pond, aquarium and in decorative glass with water. Marimo moss balls roll over the bottom of the pond, which is why they are round. If they are dirty, just wash them under the tap and squeeze them like a sponge. A moss ball grows very slowly and can easily live a hundred years.
The Marimo moss ball brings good luck! At least, according to Japanese culture. But besides that bit of luck, the moss ball offers much more. It is an oxygen plant, provides balanced and clear (pond) water. Hardy and decorative. No specific conditions to the environment of the moss ball are required.

Marimo balls or Chladophora Aegagrophila are highly decorative moss (algae) balls. Country of origin is Japan. In Japanese, the name "Mari" means bouncy ball. "Mo" means water plant (moss).Mari & Mo are meant as a treasure and believed to bring good luck. They are also a sign of love and affection.
Moss ball properties
- Very resistant to cold and very cold water.
- If the moss ball is dirty, it can be easily cleaned under the faucet.
- You can squeeze into it like a sponge.
- After cleaning and squeezing, it may take several hours to sink again.
- They grow very slowly. After about 15 years, they can reach a diameter of 20 cm.

- Bacteria live in fine hairs of the moss ball.
- When a moss ball turns brown and this does not go away on its own, it can be temporarily placed in a bowl of water to which a little salt has been added

Do I have a warranty on my plants?
Our plants are grown with the utmost care. Special attention is paid to the development and growth of the plant. When packing your order, quality control also takes place. So you can be sure that the plants you purchase from us are core healthy.
Did you receive plants and you are not sure about the quality? Please let us know within 48h after delivery, using this form. Enclose a photo so that we can look at the plants with you and advise you. If it turns out that the plants really are not of good quality, we will of course guarantee your purchase.
