PH value | Measuring the PH is a must, or is this not true?
PH value, you've probably heard of this water value but what exactly does it mean and what effect does it have on me as a pond owner? A P H value is something that should be considered when you have a pond.
The PH value is a gauge to measure the acidity of pond water. But the recommended P H value depends on the type of pond you have. For example, if you have a pond without fish then a Ph between 7.0-8.5 is ideal and if you have a pond with fish, such as a koi pond, then a Ph between 8.0-8.5 is ideal.
Many people wonder if it is necessary to adjust the water hardness measure, to this question I have an answer than people are often surprised. In fact, it is not necessary to measure the hardness of the water if you properly building and set up.
When the pond is properly set up, measuring water hardness and PH, KH and GH values is not necessary. But how do you set up a pond correctly? For starters, there are 3 essential supplies to consider. First of all, there should be pond substrate should be added to the bottom of the pond, as substrate is the base of the pond. Next oxygen plants not be missing in your pond, because they provide the stabilization of the water values; GH, PH, KH value and water hardness. Finally, the addition of pond bacteria for a stable and healthy environment in your pond.
Supplies for a maintenance-free pond
The term PH is translated from Latin where it stands for "Potentia Hydrogenii," when translated into Dutch it means "Hydrogen Ion Concentration," which in turn means the acidity of the water.
To indicate what a good PH value is, a guideline is used. This guideline indicates that when the PH is between 5.5-7.0, the PH degree in the water is healthy. However, this not measured when the pond is well furnished.

Simon's vision is to let nature do its work in your pond. No need to buy all kinds of measuring equipment and water improvers. If the fish are swimming nicely and the plants are growing well, then the water in the pond is of good quality. With a good planting plan and the right approach, you can save a lot of money and maintenance, and ensure a clear, biologically balanced pond that becomes more beautiful every year.
