A hardy marsh plant with striking flowers and purifying properties The Iris black, also known as Iris Louisiana ‘Black Gamecock’, is a hardy marsh plant that helps purify water and adds color to the pond’s edge. With its dark purple-black flowers, it immediately catches the eye, while also contributing to a healthier pond. Its roots absorb excess nutrients from the water, which helps control duckweed and algae. A practical and striking plant for anyone who wants to combine aesthetics and function. Iris black in wet conditions, such as the banks or marshy areas of your pond. The plant blooms profusely from spring through early summer, producing large flowers that can reach up to 60 cm in height. You can easily remove spent flowers to maintain a neat appearance and encourage new blooms. The leaves are sturdy, stay green for a long time, and provide shelter for pond inhabitants. Thanks to its adaptability, it grows in both sun and partial shade, as long as the soil remains moist. Our Iris black grown without chemical fertilizers in our own nursery and is fully hardy. The plant returns every year and requires little maintenance. For a balanced pond, we recommend 2 baskets, each containing 4 plants, per 1,000 liters of water—a total of 8 marsh plants. The water is finally clear

No matter what I tried, the water in my pond just wouldn't clear up. After exchanging a few emails, I decided to order this complete kit, though to be honest, I wasn't very confident it would work.
The delivery was in good condition and the plants looked healthy. Not much changed during the first few weeks, but after about a month, the water slowly began to clear up.
Now the pond is really in perfect balance. The plants are growing well, and I can even see frogs among the leaves again. I'm really glad I gave this a try.

Last year, I had a landscaper install a plant filter in my swimming pond, and he recommended lava rock and some plants from the local garden center. Unfortunately, it all went wrong; the plants died one by one, and I ended up with an algae infestation.
