Pond baskets

Pond baskets come in different shapes and sizes. Pond baskets are used to place plants not only on the edges of the pond, but also in the middle of the pond, for example. Furthermore, pond baskets keep aquatic plants in check by preventing their roots from spreading. Using a special floating ring in combination with a pond basket, you can even create a floating plant island. Put the plant in the pond basket in special aquatic plant soil and clay along with a nutrient tablet and you have the ideal soil for aquatic plants.

Pond baskets are available from us in different shapes and sizes. The most common size is a square basket of 19×19 cm. Up to 4 aquatic plants can be placed in this basket. We also sell the Square basket in a larger version of 35×35 cm. We also offer kidney-shaped and round baskets.

When you buy pond plants from us, they come with pond basket, clay, food and cover gravel (a so-called potting set). This of course with the exception of species that do not need a basket such as floating plants. Each potting set includes the maximum number of plants. You can also choose a mini pond plant set to purchase. This potting set with 4 different, matched plants is an asset to any pond. In addition to pond plants in baskets, there is also a large selection of oxygen plants in baskets.

What is a pond basket?

A pond basket is used to put aquatic plants in a good nutrient medium. The pond basket is filled with clay, soil and nutrients and is great for growing healthy, strong aquatic plants. Because of the small holes in the basket, it allows water to pass through to the inside, but holds the proper nutrient soil. This gives the plant all the nutrition it needs.

Aquatic plants are often planted in a pond basket. Once in the pond basket, they can be placed in the pond. It is important to stick to the prescribed depth stated on the packaging. When the plants are at the correct depth, you ensure optimal growth and flowering of the plant in question. On our site we have a number of tips to get the most out of your pond plants. A pond basket keeps plants from proliferating and provides them with proper nutrition. It is also easy to place the plants at the right depth in the pond.
